Mother's Day
Oh! the love
that is shown this day!
To mothers
far and near.
Children
saving their weekly pay,
To bring
her some cheer.
But the love
to her that is shown,
By them each
day of the year,
Is the thing
that counts with her,
Is the thing
she holds most dear.
If we will
say, "I love you, Mother,"
And do not
show by deeds,
That we really
love each other
As Miriam
near the reeds.
Little Moses
was put there when,
His mother
saved his life,
And, as Miriam
obeyed, right then,
He grew to
resent strife.
When we quarrel
with one another,
And from
it will not cease,
We do not
really love our mother,
Or we would
try to please.
