The Honor Roll

There's an honor roll up in heaven
that grows with each passing day,
It bears the names of our heroes
in that distant land far away.

The list keeps growing longer
as we struggle for freedom each day,
And God is sad in His kingdom
while we here on earth kneel and pray.

The names that are placed there in honor
shall shine with the stars from above,
They are the sentinel of freedom,
each is the symbol of love.

We honor the heroes in heaven
in that land so far away,
And pray that we may meet them
when our task is finished some day.

There are names that stand out like beacons
of heroes and what they have done,
But to God way up there in heaven,
they are not judged by what they have won.

He does not reward them with medals
or badges, or tokens of fame;
To Him they are just plain soldiers
He judges all just the same.
